What is a typical day for you like at Concentric?

It’s hard to describe a typical day as a Senior Security Operations Coordinator, because every day is truly unique! At its core, each day consists of liaising with client POCs, our security partners, and fellow colleagues over the phone or via email to coordinate physical security for our clients in both domestic and international locations. My main goal each day is to make sure our clients’ needs are not only being met, but that we’re exceeding their expectations with our excellent service.

I also work daily with stakeholders across multiple departments to brainstorm ways that we can improve our internal processes to become more efficient on the Operations side of the house.

How long have you been at Concentric and what part of your job do you find most fulfilling?

I’ve been at Concentric since August of 2019. I was a member of our GSOC team for two years before accepting a position as a Security Operations Coordinator in September of 2021. I think the most fulfilling aspect as an Operations Coordinator is successfully completing one of our more difficult projects, such as a multi-week assignment, a task that covers several countries, or a last-minute request in the nick of time. Being able to look back on an email thread that spans the course of more than a month to ‘admire your work’ is one of the most rewarding parts of coordinating.

Of course, in the security world, we have to move on to the next task quickly or we’re often juggling multiple assignments at once, but being able see your hard work lead to success is one of the best feelings out there.

What is your educational and professional background before joining Concentric?

I attended the University of Washington and earned a double major in Political Science with an emphasis in International Security and in History of War and Society. I was able to take some amazing classes in topics such as Nuclear Strategy, International Relations, and Global Corruption.

Growing up, I was always drawn to the renowned government security agencies back in the DC area who work to keep people safe on a day-to-day basis. While I came close in the application process, I loved the idea of working for the private sector version of that at Concentric and accepted an offer into its Global Security Operations Center shortly after graduating in 2019.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I’m one of the biggest sports junkies around! I love to spend time watching, attending, or traveling to live sporting events for the Seattle Mariners, UW Huskies, and the Seattle Sounders. You can often catch me officiating high-level high school or college wrestling tournaments both local and around the country during the weekends in the winter months of the year. I’m also an avid reader of all things history or personal development related in my down time.

What are you most looking forward to over the next year?

I’m really looking forward to seeing what my team can accomplish in 2023! We just added two amazing individuals onto the Protective Operations team who both have strong work ethics along with incredible knowledge of the industry. Working in tandem as a larger team will continue to foster the level of excellence that we pride ourselves on at Concentric.

I’m also planning to head out and travel this year. I’m particularly excited to visit the UK in August to watch some Premier League games in-person and to explore the unique culture and sites of the region.
