What is a typical day for you like at Concentric?
As Chief of Staff, I luckily get to have my hands in a lot of different “pots”. I’m grateful to a leadership team that sees the importance of the role. I engage throughout the staff to identify efficiencies and explore opportunities to maximize effectiveness. On a typical day, I attend departmental update syncs, conduct one-on-one meetings with the staff, and work on any litany of ongoing evolution projects as we work to ensure our offerings and support are at the peak of our industry.
How long have you been at Concentric and what part of your job do you find most fulfilling?
I joined the Concentric team September 2020 and my role evolved to the Chief of Staff position March 2021. That evolution is indicative of what I appreciate most about Concentric: the consistent drive for betterment and support for new ideas. Our team’s caliber and range of experience, expertise, and inquisitiveness make for the best professional and collaborative environment I have yet experienced.
What is your educational and professional background before joining Concentric?
I graduated from Wake Forest University with a BA in Communication Science and double minor in Chinese and Spanish. I became a Naval Intelligence Officer right out of college with the goal of “seeing the world”. The Navy held up their end of that bargain and after 12 years, 9 deployments, and work directly supporting special operations across 12 countries with travel to another 45 countries, I was grateful to end up with the Concentric team.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Having just moved to the Pacific Northwest after never having even visited, I am thoroughly enjoying playing tourist and photographing my way through all of the gorgeous National Parks over here. I’m especially keen on anything that makes me feel like a “local” after having moved 10 times in those 12 years of service! I got my dog, Casco (named after Casco Bay, Maine) as soon as I got home from my last deployment, in March of 2020; she is very much a “quarantine puppy”, so you will find her begrudgingly posing for me as we head up yet another waterfall.
What are you most looking forward to over the next year?
I’m eagerly awaiting being able to see friends and family; I had been looking forward to really making up for some lost time post-military separation, but COVID had other plans for me and the rest of the world. Once we’re safe, I hope to have a revolving door of visitors up here!
