We are excited to introduce you to Tessa Frederick, MA, a Senior Security Operations Coordinator and Global Security Operations Center Manager with Concentric Advisors. Joining our team in early 2018, Tessa is a critical stakeholder working with our clients and managing our 24/7 GSOC.
What is a typical day for you like at Concentric?
As the Senior Security Operations Coordinator and Global Security Operations Center Manager for the company, I’m a focal point of coordination between our global clients and team members. I work with our clients to identify their specific security concerns, and apply appropriate solutions such as deploying protection agents, secure drivers, residential security, or remote monitoring services. I also spend a significant amount of time managing relationships with our team members and clients, and supporting programmatic initiatives ranging from performing day-to-day procedural administration to analyzing how to maintain our bespoke service offerings. Together with our team of coordinators, partners, and 24/7 GSOC, we pull out all the stops to support our clients’ needs. I support these efforts behind the scenes to make sure the right resources are always available to our clients, no matter when they call. That often means I’m consuming an extra cup of coffee at odd hours to keep up with our worldwide operations!
How long have you been at Concentric and what part of your job do you find most fulfilling?
I’ve been with Concentric for three years now, and have found that I find personal fulfillment in achieving the “impossible”. We’ve built a community of genuinely good people who are passionate about keeping folks safe. When I get a client call at midnight asking for urgent or crisis support, there’s nothing more rewarding than being able to provide peace of mind by delivering a service they can trust when they need it the most.
What is your educational and professional background before joining Concentric?
I have an undergraduate degree in Global Security and Intelligence Studies from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Master’s degree in China Studies that I attained while serving as a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow at the University of Washington. I also had the opportunity to work at the FBI Field Office in Seattle while in graduate school, and worked with some pretty incredible folks supporting critical missions on a daily basis. It’s through these networks that I found Concentric!
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Living in the Pacific Northwest, there’s no shortage of activities or opportunities to take advantage of for fun. Hiking is a favorite! I’m also an avid food fan, so whether it’s cooking at home or finding a new restaurant, you can find me at my happiest when out on an adventure to explore new places. Prior to COVID, I had a personal mission to find the best charcuterie board in the Pacific Northwest – it’s an ongoing quest, if anyone has recommendations!
What are you most looking forward to over the next year?
I’m someone who likes to be on the move, and I can’t wait for that to be easier this year. I’m ready to be able to connect with loved ones, friends, and coworkers again safely in 2021. Like several of my colleagues, I’m excited for international travel to open up and for our clients to be on the move once again!
